About the Product
FixMeStick makes a virus removal gadget that is easier than a toaster to use because there’s no software to install.
Here’s what makes the FixMeStick unique:
Today’s viruses are designed to beat anti-virus products, and as a result virus infections are widespread. People have two options for getting their machines cleaned up. They either take their computer to an expensive Geek Squad type service (which uses the equivalent of a FixMeStick), or harass a “techie” friend.
Anti-virus software runs when a computer’s operating system is on, allowing viruses to run and evade detection. The FixMeStick hardware works with a computer’s regular operating system off.
FixMeStick can be run by anyone, faster and cheaper than other alternatives. It represents a real advance for non-techies, who’ve had to spend considerable time and money ridding their computers of viruses.
Why does this product matter?
People will increasingly have to contend with viruses on their computing devices. More Internet commerce means more Internet thieves, and Internet thieves have an inherent advantage: they get the first move, which they have consistently used for 20 years to find new ways to infect other people’s computers.

My Take on the Product
I was so impressed with how well this worked. It really is like having a tech professional in your own home (it is that easy). I have an older computer that was running quite slow so I used the fixmestick on that and it found three viruses that I did not realize were there. That being said, the fixmestick did all the work and all I had to do was let it work. It took a bit of time, but when it was done I saw a notable increase in the speed of the computer! I was very impressed and would highly recommend this to all!

I don’t really have a craziest computer story but what I really think is crazy is that my first computer – a Tandy 1000 – didn’t even have a hard drive.
My daughter dropped her MacBook down a flight of stairs moving out of her dorm. Toast. My current laptop, under warranty, was sent in for a loose electrical connection (power adapter) …I had to send it in and wait an interminable week+ for it to be returned and when it was, they’d changed the battery. Only. It has to go BACK, again. *sigh* I’ve lost way more info from crashes than I’ve managed to save. Now, everything is saved immediately to a back up drive.
This little device sounds very cool — I’d love to give it a try.
My craziest is probably when my brother in law lived with us and he borrowed my computer- he had downloaded something crazy and it took a week to get it working right!
my craziest would be when I got a virus an it too 2 weeks to get rid of it,,was such a mess
My daughter won our computer from a contest that was held in our town by the police department. She was soooooo happy. thanks
My craziest was when a virus hit and wiped out some on my kid’s work on the computer. We got most of it back, though.

One night I dropped my laptop down the stairs. It stopped on the landing and when I went to pick it up I accidentally kicked it down the rest of the stairs.(I may or may not have had a glass of wine or two that night) Miraculously it still works fine!
