My Take on the Products

I have had the chance in the past to try out a few of the Coolibar products so I was excited to be able to have my family try out a few new products for this summer season. What I love about these products are how well they are constructed, but even more than this is the protection that the products provide. Especially as we get ready for the summer season, with visits to the pool or to the lake, or just playing outside, having products that can provide the UV protection that you want is important and it gives you the chance to be able to not have to apply as much sunscreen as you typically would.

You can see in the pictures I have included here that the products are also quite fashionable as you can see with J-Mom styling them! In asking J-Mom her opinion she stated that they were comfortable and lightweight which makes the material breathable in the summer heat, thus, even though you have long sleeves, you don’t feel too warm. Also, one thing that she mentioned was that she found that the clothing sizes tend to run a little large, so keep that in mind when ordering your own products.

As A Dad I Want to Look My Best @LandsEnd #dadchat

As a dad and as a man, I want to look good, not only for myself, but for my family and so that my girls can see that I take pride in how I look and so should they. This has been a bit of a reversal over the years as for many years I had the same clothes that I had been wearing for years, and I kept these clothes as long as I could to make sure that I did not have to spend my money unwisely. Now I see the error of my ways and look for clothes that are of high quality construction and that will last for a long time, but also will maintain the look that I want to maintain for a long time.

Some of this has come about because of the work that I do on a daily basis. Working in a university setting where I have to wear a suit and tie everyday, I know that I am in the spotlight and I also see many of the professionals at higher levels than myself dressing like this too, which is always a good incentive for a person as well.

So you can probably guess that I was pretty excited when I was asked my Lands End to try out one of their new shirts. I have been aware of Lands End for some time, and their name to me has always been one that I attributed to high quality. One of the other things though that Lands End means to me personally is customizability. Why do I say this you may ask. Well… as a shorter gentleman, I find it very difficult to find clothes that fit well. I usually cannot go into stores and find a wide array of shorts in my size and don’t get me started on pants. With that being said, Lands End is great because I can custom order specific sized clothes and know that they will come to me with no strings attached. On top of this Lands End has a great return policy so if clothes do not fit right, you can return them easily!

On top of this Lands End always has great sales going on so you can find some great deals. I went on today and found over 40 coupons that could be used online available…talk about great deals.

I decided to try out the Men’s Regular Long Sleeve Stripe Zip Rugby.

What I loved about this shirt was that not only was it of high quality construction, but on top of this it was warm. I also loved the zip up front that provided a different look depending on whether you had it up or down. As I Said before I want to look good, and I have to say that through shirts like this and so much more on the Lands End site, I am continually reminded about this and encouraged to continue coming back for more from this company in the future as I know that I can expect great things from them now and in the future and you will be able to as well.

One of these is enough, but with both, you can bet that this can make typing a bit painful. With that in mind I was excited to be given the chance to try out Dragon Naturally Speaking Software. I had heard of this software in the past and wanted to see for myself whether this would help me to be more productive and lessen the pain that I have when typing.

One of these is enough, but with both, you can bet that this can make typing a bit painful. With that in mind I was excited to be given the chance to try out Dragon Naturally Speaking Software. I had heard of this software in the past and wanted to see for myself whether this would help me to be more productive and lessen the pain that I have when typing.

First off, I was happy to see that for what you pay you get everything in one box. This includes not only the software but also the headset that you will wear to dictate into the computer. The software was easy and fast to install too. Once installed, you do have to take some time to allow the software to acclimate to your voice. You not only have to calibrate the headset, but the overall software. This can take some time, but from what I can tell, the more that you train the software, the better the overall results will be when you are dictating.

After about 30-40 minutes of training the computer, I was ready to start using the software. I came to find that you have to get used to the commands that are programmed into the software to be able to use the entire capacity of the software itself, but once you do, you can really move. You do need to watch what you dictate as there will be times when the wrong word or words will come up, and while they are easily fixed, you definitely want to catch them so that you are not embarrassed by what you present in the end.

You can use this software in pretty much any other software package that you want, including in your email client. I have found that this really save me a ton of time overall, and I am definitely more productive in the end.

I feel as though I have just cracked the surface when it comes to this program, and that being said I am very excited to keep trying to learn more and more and to use this in more innovative ways.

This program would be a great gift for anyone that types a lot, as it will provide them with the ability to get more accomplished, while saving wear and tear on their bodies from the repetitive motion of typing. This software is not only for people that may have injuries affecting their mobility, but instead it is for anyone that wishes to change the way that they do things to a more tech-savvy way of living.

Nintendo ( @NintendoAmerica ) Wii U – A Whole New Look at #gaming #dadchat

wii U I was lucky enough to have been given the opportunity to try out the new WII U lately and to start let me tell you, this is so much more than the original WII that we have in our home. On top of the changes that they made with the system itself, putting in built in WIFI, chargeable controller, controller redesign, and so much more, the games, graphics and overall experience is so much more robust in my opinion.

The setup of the system was quite easy and I found that I had everything that I needed. I loved the fact that the system walks you through step by step how to set up the system and makes it completely fool proof. Know that they will ask you to download updated software when you first start and even with a WIFI connection it will take quite a bit of time. Seeing that I had been given the Deluxe version, I loved the fact that it was built in with 32GB if internal memory. One downside that I have seen thus far is the fact that the system does not come with any remotes. If you have a WII already, your WII Motion remotes will work with this as well, otherwise you will need to purchase some of these for the system itself.

The main hub for the WII U is still somewhat similar to what you are used to in the WII, but there are some changes that were nice. In the setup alone you have the opportunity to set up multiple MII characters for you and your family to allow you to interact and play within the system.

Some Other Great Features

The Wii U games and eShop offers a breadth of gaming experiences to enjoy: With over more than 30 launch-day games and upwards of 50 in the launch window, there is a wide variety of games for consumers to enjoy today—ranging from hardcore titles to ones the whole family can enjoy together. Wii U owners also have a lot to look forward to, including recently announced Super Mario and Mario Kart titles for Wii U, two Wii U Zelda games, a Yoshi title, a new game from Monolith Soft and a new Shin-Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem game.

The first game that I played on the system was the new LEGO City Underground. This new game is a new take on the LEGO games that I have played on the WII, and really allows you to be in control of the environment in general. I loved the fact that you get to broadly interact with the game and the characters and there is much mystery within the game as you are charged with solving a number of puzzles that will allow you to move forward in the game. You definitely need your detective skills and cannot be afraid of getting down and dirty with some unsavory characters, but all-in-all this was a very fun game. The graphics were stellar and It will provide you with hours of uninterrupted game time.

Toro 1500 Power Curve

I was recently asked to try out one of Toro‘s new Snow Blowers. Seeing that I live in Michigan, you can guess that we get just a little bit of snow, so having a good snow blower is essential to lasting through the snow without straining your back too much. The snow blower that I was able to try was the Toro 1500 Power Curve and to be honest this was the first electric snow blower that I have ever tried, as all of my other ones from the past have been gas powered. Before I give you my thoughts on how this worked in the snow, I will say that I was impressed with how easy this went together as I really did not want to spend hours putting it together only to find that in the end it did not work. The instructions were easy to follow and I was able to get this together in a very short amount of time overall. I had to wait a little bit before I could actually write this post as I wanted to make sure that we actually had some snow on the ground, and right around Christmas this ended up happening, so we were in good shape to testing this out.

My Take on the Snow blower
I used the Toro snow thrower for the first time the other day after we received 4-5 inches of snow. The snow was light and fluffy. I had purchased a 100 foot cord for my driveway which worked well with this machine.

The chute did a good job of throwing the snow I was trying to remove in front of the snow thrower at a good distance.. The handle was easy to turn and thus moving the chute from side to side was not difficult.

It is light weight so it was easy for me to handle and even went through some heavy snow that the snow plows from the city had left at the end of my driveway.

An important thought with the machine is to make sure the interlock key near the handle is securely pushed into the base to start the snow thrower. A few times it was not directly in the correct alignment and would not start. It seems to wiggle easily so knowing that you should engage it securely. Once it starts it will continue to run until you let go of the bail which is the handle that controls the power to the snow thrower.

I believe this snow thrower would be ideal for someone who is looking for lightweight alternative to the larger models. It will be interesting to see how it removes the snow when the accumulation is heavy and wet.

My Take on This Printer

I have been using this printer over the last week and have to say that I am thoroughly impressed. I have tried Epson printers in the past and have found them to be very reliable and the quality to be top notch. This printer definitely improves upon the printing speed that I have seen with the Epson printers in the past and with the large capacity printing that this provides, you will be covered no matter if it is a large or small print job that you have on the radar.

Setting up this printer was a breeze, and even coordinating the wireless options between my different computers was simple and I had no problems with wireless printing from different areas within my home (which is great for the family that may be trying to print from different area or floors within the same house).

The scanning quality was high and I found that the image that I received after scanning was one that all could read with no problems.

Also, as someone who is frugal I am always looking for printers that will save me money, and I have found with this printer that it has some nice features that will allow me to do this. I love the two sided printing and while I have yet to see my overall electric bill, if the 50% saving is what really comes to pass I will be very impressed and happy with these results.

The printer states that you should be able to get about five reams of paper out of the ink cartridges which is pretty good. I know that some of the stores do have larger capacity cartridges that should be able to extend this even further into the future too.

The printer is a bit heavier than some other printers that I have had, but I will attribute this to the extra functions that it provides you as a consumer.

The printer comes in a very well protected box (somewhat too protected in my opinion). The company has painstakingly made sure that all parts are taped down, so definitely make sure to find all of this nd remove before using the printer for the first time.

One other item that was very cool was EPSON Connect, which allows you to wirelessly print from any and all of your tech toys. This is something that I appreciated as the computer that I usually use is not connected to this printer, and what that means is usually I have to save something on a flashdrive, bring it to a connected computer and then print it, or connect the flashdrive into the printer itself and then print. All of this usually leads to frustration and making me downright fed up with the whole process. Not anymore! This printer and the EPSON Connect technology makes printing easy, and now wherever I am in my home I can print to the printer which is AWESOME!

All-in-all I was impressed with the quality of this printer and what it provides the consumer. I see this as a great fit for a small (not high volume printing) office or for a small to medium sized family. Note that you will need to have the room for this printer as it is larger than a typical desktop printer and with that in mind you have to verify that you have the space and data connections available to make this work for all that will come in contact with it.

My Take on the Product

I am always looking for a smooth clean shave and thus finding a razor that shaves close is important. At the same time, I like to keep my sideburns trimmed as well (and I don’t always want to go to the salon to have this done). What was great about this product was that this razor does it all. Not only do you get the closest shave that I have gotten in a long time, but with the fact that this also has a power trimmer built in you get the best of both worlds and you can keep yourself well groomed.

While I do not have a beard or mustache, I can also see how well this product would work with someone that does, as it makes keeping things trimmed and clean easy, and best of al you do not have to have more than one product when you are traveling.

I highly recommend this to all, not only those that have beards, but to all who want to have a clean crisp shave and a well groomed appearance!
